The legendary white blues master, John Mayall, also known as The Father of British Blues, gives us nine own songs, with the exception of Baby, What You Want Me To Do by Jimmy Reed and Mama Talk To Your Daughter by JB Lenoir The album was recorded in the mid-eighties, so it will not be anything new for Mayall’s followers who have got his complete discography, or at least his last thirty years albums Big Man Blues is a precise solid album, which follows a coherent line of his previous records and, as usual, John is backed by a bunch of high-level musicians who give the best of themselves The band includes James Quill Smith guitar, Kevin McCormick bass, Soko Richardson drums, Maggie Parker backing vocals and percussion, Christian Marian flute and sax and John Mayall himself leading the group with his guitar, piano, organ, some harmonica touches and, of course, singing with his personal characteristic falsetto voice
