Like his father, John Lee Hooker Jr has the blues in his veins Hooker Jr was born in Detroit and, as you can easily imagine, he lived with the blues since he was a child He was Jimmy Reed’s backing musicians when he was only sixteen where he received audience recognition and in 1972, whe he was only eighteen years old, he sang with his father on Live At Soledad Prison album, recorded for ABC Records In this third cd he has just recorded for Jazzhaus European label, John Lee Hokkers Jr shows again he is completely caught by the most classis orthodox blues but with a totally modern and contemporary arrangements and final production, as he loves to do so, according to his personal musical style The result are twelve well conceived songs, developed with an extreme good taste and technical quality that contrast with his previous less ambitious projects An splendid cd that will satisfy most of you
