Born in Canada in 1955, singer and guitar player John Campbelljohn grew up surrounded by Scottish music sounds, coming from those immigrants who had settled in that area. But soon he discovered blues and from that moment on, he devoted himself to play and deeply study this music, becoming a true bluesman who now is also a master of slide guitar technique.

Over the years he has tireless worked, not only in Canada but also in USA and Europe. It was in Germany where he recorded his first European album and now, he has signed for ZYX Music, a recognized German label which has released this album.

It gathers fourteen songs which were originally written and performed by some great artists who have deeply influenced him, that become a heartfelt tribute to musicians like John Lee Hooker, George Thorogood, Elmore James, Ry Cooder, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Lockwood Jr. or Rory Gallagher among others.

A varied example of different blues facets, styles and colors John Campbelljohn develops with a genuine mastery and big feeling, showing his skills on vocals, guitars, slide, lap steel and resonator, backed by Neil Robertson on drums and the vocal support of his daughter Cassie Campbell and Wayne Nicholson.

Lovers of real traditional blues will certainly enjoy this album, where John Campbelljohn shows his skills and blues knowledge, he performs from the deepest part of his heart.
