Here comes an interesting singer and guitarist with a surprisingly deep and extremely exciting style, for the passion and energy he gives to every one of the songs included in this album Joey Gilmore is backed by an energetic strong band, which enhances Gilmore’s strength and expressiveness Joey gives free rein to his vocal and instrumental skills along the whole cd, performing with an amazing groove songs like Letting A Good Thing Go Bad, Cheaper To Keep Her, Cold Cold Feeling or You Better Love Her Good just to name some of them, thanks to the accurate playing, the excellent beat and the terrific climax that little by little create Sonny Boy Williams on keyboards, Robert ‘ Hi-Hat ‘ Carter on bass and Raul Hernandez on drums If you listen to the vocal inflections and the natural Joey’s talent on guitar, you will immediately realize his main influences come from such great names like Otis Redding, Johnny Taylor, Little Milton and other similar musicians strongly touched by southern soul-blues tradition In short words, this is a good album that will make you quiver and give you joy in equal parts
