High talent blues singer and guitar player, Joey Gilmore clearly shows he is a musician born for the blues Joey sings with deep conviction and he passionately gives the best of himself along the eleven songs included on the cd, perfectly backed by a musical combo with George Caldwell on bass, Raul D Hernández on drums, Bob Abernathy on piano, Hammond and keyboards and Regi Oliver on saxos Other musicians who have also collaborated on the cd are Bob ‘Bluesbobby’ Weinberg on harp, Joe Beard Jr on second guitar and the marvellous voice of Jean Ezell on backing vocals in some tunes The Joey Gilmore Band won the 2006 Blues Foundation International Blues Challenge (IBC) contest and this cd proves why this singer and his musicians were honoured with that award A cd that becomes a reference for lovers of most genuine contemporary blues with a touch of soul and funky twist music
