Two new albums of one of our most outstanding virtuoso harmonica players, Mr. Joan Pau Cumellas. Both cds give us an stylistic proposal that puts the accent on quality, technique and creativity instead of commerciality, where Cumellas shows his talent as harmonica player with an effective approaching and a bright phrasing which gives as a result a rolling smooth performing. The first cd “Joan Paul Cumellas y Miguel Talavera” lets us see two great well teamed musicians on twelve well chosen tracks with a good straight guitar and harmonica playing.
On the second cd “Hard Driving”, Joan Pau Cumellas is backed by his habitual band, Mr. Hurricane. This is a more elaborated cd with different guest musicians who come from different Barcelona and Mallorca musical circles who give all their knowledge on an electric ambitious mature record. Ten cool songs, well conceived and performed, that will certainly satisfy good music lovers because they will find different influences and musical styles such as rock, blues, country, jazz… In short words, two splendid cds to be enjoyed at any time.
