After ten years travelling abroad, singer and guitar player JJ Vicars comes back to the United States, where he has recorded his sixth album we have now on hands, an album that shows his mastery in blues language he performs with a personal stamp and an irreverent sense of humour that make him to be a unique artist The album is divided into three distinctive parts The first three songs become a tribute to roadhouse blues, developed with the always effective language of Texas shuffles The second block moves along the way of Kansas City blues with a 50’s jazzy touch that drives us back to those times where artists like Jimmy Whiterspoon, Eddie Vinson pr Big Jay McNeely (who plays in one song) were the kings The third segment presents Vicars’ most personal facet as instrumentalist, with an approach to western swing, ballads and country Surrounded by and able professional bunch of musicians, JJ Vicars gives free rein to his knowledge of the different faces of a well connected music, thanks to his personal way of displaying and conceiving these styles
