A reissue of the album “Back To The Roots”, this time entitled “Keepin’ It Hot” by the excellent singer, able songwriter and dazzling actual blues guitar player Jim Kahr, a musician who performs new Chicago blues style. His name is Jim Kahr. Born in that city, Jim grew up absorbing the blues he could listen and breathe in his close environment.

For quite a long time Jim Kahr has become a beloved and respected musician not only in USA but also in Europe as, not in vain, he has put his guitar to the service of blues legends and icons like Charlie Musselwhite, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rogers, Bobby “Blue” Bland or Freddie King, all them historical musicians he was honored either being a band member of recording together with them as, for example, in Charlie Musselwhite’s album “Mellow Dee”, where you can listen to his guitar displaying really beautiful phrasing and arrangements.

For the recording he has just reissued, Jim has surrounded himself by a wide group of musicians with the same musical tastes than him, who have worked together in the fourteen album songs, all them Jim Kahr’s own compositions. This backing band play with a total skill, commitment, good taste and a careful performing and includes Steve Potts on drums, Dave Smith on bass, Ernest Williamson on Hammond and keyboards, Andrew Love on sax and the backing voices of Reba Russell and Jackie Johnson, also including some guest musicians like Bob Stroger, Ron Sorin or Ian Fullwood.

Also mention the songs “Ain’t No Sunshine” y It’s A Man’s World” were recorded in Berlin and Menen (Belgium) respectively, on a quartet format and with other musicians.

This is an explosive, intense, creative, magical and, of course, timeless recording.
