During the pandemic lockdown, Jhett Black started to work the land on a lonely ranch in southern New Mexico and living in a cabin, remembering the time he worked as gardener in Nashville. After eight years of non-stop touring nationally and internationally with his folk/rock band, this isolation period was really productive for him, as he devoted himself to come back to the roots and write a handful of songs that show not only the benefits of country life but also his struggle against adversity and depression.
Eight songs that drive us to the most genuine sound of American music, on a journey to those places that already belong to music history, where Jhett walks along with complete honesty. In fact, most of his influences come from Mississippi North Hill County and southern roots music, styles he comfortably moves, as he knows them in detail and has imbued himself with this kind of music, to combine and successfully develop them with reliability. Jhett Black sings, plays harmonica, guitars, dobro, slide and National steel guitar.
An intimate album but, at the same time, open to new musical conceptions, that communicates respect, confidence and a healthy vitality.
