Undoubtedly and as ever, Jerry Portnoy is brilliant and superb In this cd Jerry shows his unbelievable precise harp technique that, those of us who had the opportunity of attending to the ‘masterclass’ he gave during last Cerdanyola Blues Festival, could already see live Instead of thinking about what the audience would like more, Jerry’s aim has been to show all the things he is able to do with a harp on his mouth He has strayed himself from usual blues harp patterns to walk into different possibilities, exploring fields like swing, jazz standars or shuffles The result is a cd that will certainly satisfy all harmonica fans Bright, keen, agressive but, at the same time, elegant and cool are some adjectives that could define this amazing cd where Jerry gives us a wide range of technical ressources such as overblows, first position, chromatic harp If you are harp lovers Mr Portnoy will satisfy all your expectations and will make you still fall deeply in love with this small simple but at the same time, rich instrument
