Jennis is a duo formed by Jen Gilmore and Dennis Gaumont Both are prominent multi-instrumentalists and composers in Toronto area, Canada In their songs they usually include ironical lyrics often full of an acid and corrosive sense of humor that cleverly describe the problems of actual society Musically speaking they present a variety of styles, colors and smells in their repertoire that combine diverse music genres like reggae, blues, jazz, country or traditional music On this last recording the duo and the musicians who back them give us thirteen songs where Dennis Gaumont is the lead singer and plays guitars, dobro, harmonica, banjitar and wazinator, while Jennifer Gillmore takes care of bass, flute, cello, didgeridoo and backing vocals They have also counted with the collaboration of Tom Wolf on drums and percussion, Chris Dahmer on accordion and keyboards, Cécile Doo-Kingue on guitar, Isin Hannigan on bodhrá and Tannis Slimmon and Shannonbury Kings on backing vocals in some cuts This is a fresh, honest and original recording really suitable to open minds and exotic tastes
