Although she studied classical music, singer, piano player and actress Jennifer Porter’s tastes mostly range from blues to jazz, New Orleans music, Memphis soul and roots music.

Jennifer has just released her ninth album with six own compositions plus two covers “How Long” coming from Leroy Carr and “Good Ol’ Wagon” by Stuart Balcom and Bessie Smith. In all songs Jennifer shows her versatility as a singer, with a well-pitched suggestive voice that drives us along elegant paths, thanks to her skills and good tone on piano and the way she develops her repertoire.

The songs that make up this album present a range of styles that confirm the wide possibilities of an artist who knows how to move with reliability and good taste in the just mentioned styles that undoubtedly will fulfill the expectations of most listeners.

Besides, Jennifer has surrounded herself with an impressive cast of musicians who enhance her musical qualities, like George Naha (Wilson Picket, Sam & Dave, Aretha Franklin) and Vinnie Raniolo on guitars, Damon Banks (Neville Brothers, CJ Chenier) on bass, Jonathan Truman and Dana Packard on drums, Steve Jankowski (Blood, Sweat & Tears, Chicago) on trumpet, Doug DeHays (Labelle, Southside Johnny) on saxes and clarinet and Randy Andos (Tonny Bennet) on trombone and tuba, plus the special collaboration of CJ Chenier on accordion and Cindy Cashdollar on pedal steel guitar.

Jennifer Porter’s beautiful voice and piano playing will certainly captivate anyone who listen to this album to, in this way, discover a more than interesting performer.
