After forty years of composing and playing blues and roots music, singer, guitar player and songwriter Jeff Dale has gathered enough experience to be surrounded by high professional musicians and reputed producers. One of them is Jeff Glixman who, after listening to Dale’s previous album, insisted on mixing this new one in his New Orleans studios, together with David Donelli, a Grammy winner for his work with Alan Parsons.

After rescuing and remastering some old tapes of a show he did together with Lowell Fulson in 1983 and a DVD with David “Honeboy” Edwards, Jeff Dale now presents this new recording that becomes a journey through the most dynamic and contemporary blues, with eleven own songs he wrote during the pandemic where, not only he reflects his first steps in Chicago south-side, but he also blends various elements and textures ranging from blues to jazz, African rhythms and even rhythm and blues. Jeff Dale knows how to successfully combine all these elements but he also complements them with lyrics that communicate a fine, wise and accurate sense of humor.

In addition to his regular band The South Woodlawners, Dale has also counted with the collaboration of a young well-assembled rhythm section, The Dirty Jacks, and cellist Dane Little from Los Angeles Opera, to reach a wide variety of colorful sonorities, without losing the most genuine music tones.
