Singer and guitar player of great value and an original very tasteful musician as well, JC Smith has done a good new album, vitalist, energetic with an amazing performing JC Smith and his band are now powerfully emerging into the always competitive West Coast blues scene, leading with a charismatic strength actual San Francisco area blues music JC has got a good knowledge and his musical influences come from such great masters like T-Bone Walker, Albert King, Lowell Fulson, Jimmy McCracklin and Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson, he usually mentions when he is asked about this subject In this new cd, the third one since 2003, JC Smith has included twelve excellent songs, four own ones and the rest covers which, on this band hands, get an impressive feeling Ray Charles’ A Fool For You, Charles Brown’s She Walks Right In or Louis Jordan’s Outskirts Of Town are some good examples
