Do you know how people call this singer and guitarist named Jason Vivone? He is fondly called the Orson Welles of the roots blues This album gathers nine exceptional Jason’s own compositions All songs show a musician with a strong personality and the creative gift that only have those who are called to succeed into the new contemporary blues circles He is backed by an original very powerful band with Paula Crawford guitar and vocals, Joanna Berkebile vocals, Rick MacIvor keyboards, Ben Hoppes electric banjo and vocals, Jeremy Clark bass and Matt Bustamante drums, with the special collaboration of Bryan Redmon sax and Chad Boydston trumpet (both belonging to Grand Marquis’ band) With this good background Jason Vivone can give free rein to his unique slide guitar playing, which moves between unreal and sublime, in a style we could define as a sort of ‘opera’ blues, full of street poetry where he adds a little bit of science fiction Yes, I know it is a quite difficult to draw a conclusion about the album, so it will become easier and more practical you can get a copy, listen to it and let your mind and conscience totally open
