Singer and songwriter Janiva Magness reinvents herself on every album she releases, to give listeners new artistic and musical facets, always showing her impressive vocal qualities.

After a difficult childhood due to his parents’ suicide and living in different foster homes, Magness decided to devote herself to music after seeing Otis Rush live. Little by little she has made a name for herself and now she has reached a great reputation and a high musical status. Seven times Blues Music Awards winner, she has also been nominated for the Grammy Awards, besides receiving other recognitions throughout her long and fruitful career.

This is their seventeenth album. Produced by his guitar player Dave Darling, Janiva has included ten carefully selected songs coming from small and unknown gems belonging to artists like Bill Whiters, Ray LaMontagne, Allen Toussaint, Doyle Bramhall II or Tracy Nelson, always looking for quality and a deep connection between her sincere feelings, developed through her powerful voice and the repertoire she performs.

Besides an excellent band which enhances her terrific voice, the album also features a series of great guest musicians like Joe Bonamassa, TJ Norton, Sue Foley, Robert “Chalo” Ortiz, Jesse Dayton or John Schroeder among others, who add their personal touch to the already varied songs that give shape to the album.
