In most recent years New York has become one of the charismatic cities of what has started to be called the punk-blues scene Undoubtedly one of the leading bands of this particular movement is this five women one which are known with the name of Jane Lee Hooker The group is formed by Dana Danger Athens on vocals, Tracy High Top and Tina T-Bone Gorin on guitars, Hail Mary Z on bass and Melissa Cool Whip Huston on drums This is their second studio album and has been recorded under the clever supervision of reputed engineer and producer Matt Chiaravalle The main goal they wanted to get was to appear to all listeners as they usually are on stage, that is to say, raw, spontaneous and with a boundless unaffected energy This is the reason why they have avoided all usual studio devices like the variety of recording effects, overdubs, pedals and even the alternate takes to, in this way, simply capture the essential power, the total excitement and the whole enthusiasm they communicate on stage This is an album to be heard from the beginning to the end, to discover end savour all the strength and intensity Jane Lee Hooker are able to deliver
