In 1986 James O’Hara appeared in British blues circuit with his band The Fingerpoppin’ Daddies The group changed its name for The Detonators With them he had the chance to share stage and line-up with Georgie Fame at Alexis Korner’s tribute concert, which gave them popularity and opened doors to play with artist like Lonnie Donegan, Chris Barber and Peter Green, besides performing in many rock and blues shows and festivals The band fell apart in 1998 and then James formed The Giantkillers that included the legendary rhythm section of King Pleasure And The Biscuit Boys After few years touring United Kingdom, James decided to risk and start a solo career travelling to Chicago to learn the little he needed to knows of blues masters like Phil Guy, Lurrie Bell, Billy Branch, Jimmy Burns among others Las year 2016 he was awarded by the English magazine Blues Matters! and he participated at Colne International Rhythm And Blues Festival Now, with all the experience he has gathered over the years, James brings us his last album where he basically performs old school blues with charming very actual and contemporary arrangements Besides James on vocals, you will also find Paul Corry on guitar, Jon Burr on harmonica, Clinton McFarlane on bass and Marc Layton-Bennett on drums This is an interesting album to be taken into account by all 21st century new blues lovers
