Here comes an impressive James Cotton new work, where he is surrounded by a deluxe buch of musicians, all them very attractive names for those fans of the most pure and genuine blues, but also perfect for all Chicago harmonica sound lovers Great renowned musicians like Joe Bonamasa, Chuck Leavell, Darrell Nulisch, Keb Mo, Greg Allman, Delbert McClinton, Tom Holland, Colin Linden and many others have joined forces to back and pay homage to one of the last major Chicago scene living legends who has been active for more than fifty years The album is superb, terrific, complete, apetizing, intense Vitaminic strong, rocky songs, able to raise a dead man but, the best thing, is James blows harp as he did in his younger days Cotton feels comfortable and in good shape too, He again has got the sound of the times he was playing with Muddy Waters, and his harp comes directly through his amp using an Astatic or Green Bullet mic or, at least, this is how it sounds to me We are facing the best James Cotton album in several years, so do not miss it!
