I’am a black man and I feel proud of it! This is one of the most emblematic phrases said by possibly the most important and charismatic figures of soul music James Brown origin is practically the same of all soul and blues black musicians who were born before the fifties James draw his first breath in Barnell, South Carolina in 1933, but he spent his childhood in Augusta, Georgia According to his own words brought into his autobiography The Godfather Of Soul, …I don’t remember exactly when I started to steal but I do remember why I did it: to get new clothes to go to school This splendid album, remastered and reissued by Henry Stone Music, belongs to his most ‘disco’ period and was recorded in Atlanta Brown gives us six magnificent colourful tracks, full of his special magic but overall with a cool mastery performing and, the most important thing, all songs are… pure dynamite!!
