It was at the 100 Club in London where Jackson discovered those musicians who became his idols, like Jimmy Witherspoon, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson, Jay McShann, Memphis Slim, Champion Jack Dupree or Big Joe Williams among other great shouters. In 1982 he decided to devote himself to emulate those musicians by forming his own band, Rent Party, to cover songs by artists like Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Jimmy Liggins or Wynonie Harris, getting an amazing notoriety and popularity in United Kingdom, as well as recording with prestigious producer Mike Vernon. Ray Gelato encouraged him to compose his own songs and collaborated with him on several recordings. Now Sloan leads the band Jackson Sloan and the Rhythmtones touring Europe extensively.

On this album Jackson is backed by some excellent musicians led by Drew Davies on tenor sax and guitar, together with Jean Marc Labbe on baritone sax, César Pastre on piano and organ, Xavier Nikqi on double bass and Kevin L’Hermite on drums, musicians who come from Italy, Spain and UK, all of them great professionals and good knowers of the styles they play, which immerse themselves in the music of those golden 40’s and 50’s years, giving joy and happiness from the first album notes.
