With this tenth album, J.T. Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters want to celebrate their thirty years of musical career. During these three decades J.T. Lauritsen and his band have become one of the most popular and requested groups not only in Norway but all over Europe, thanks to their performing quality, dynamism and delivery on stage.
Led by singer, accordion, harmonica player and occasional Hammond organ player, they reached the semifinals at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2017 competing against more than 260 bands from around the world. They also got third place at 2015 European Blues Challenge held in Brussels. They have also received numerous awards in Norway and are currently one of the most popular bands of the European scene.
J.T Lauritsen’s vocal expressiveness can be found along the twelve album songs that present a combination of blues, soul and rhythm & blues, styles they normally develop with a remarkable groove and brightness, showing an outstanding maturity as well.
The album becomes a celebration of all these years of friendship and fun where they have shared the music they deeply feel in their hearts but also proves their undeniable professionalism and constant work.
Along their career J.T and his band have worked with great musicians and composers who have been really willing to contribute in this recording that celebrates the band 30th anniversary like, among others, Kid Andersen, Delbert McClinton, Curtis Salgado, Mike Farris, Larry Fulcher, Riley Osborn, Kevin McKendree, Gary Nicholson, JW Jones or June Core to name just a few, as well as a horn section in several songs. And of course we can’t forget J.T Lauritsen on vocals, accordion, harmonica and organ, Arnfinn Torrisen and Ian Fredrick Johannesen on guitars, Morten Nordskaug on bass and vocals and Jon Grimsby on drums and vocals.
Congratulations on these thirty years of career and hope they follow up many more years delighting us with their music.
