Jean Jacques Milteau is a renowned French harmonica player. Born in 1950, he discovered this instrument in the sixties, thanks to musicians like Bob Dylan or The Rolling Stones. He immediately devoted himself to learn and know all the harmonica secrets. He travelled to USA and there he became aware of the blues musical richness. Anyway, this did not prevent him to follow on and go deep in the study of harmonica, something that has given him an unquestionable technique and versatility. He also broadened his musical field, expanding his repertoire from blues to jazz, popular music in general or even classical music, backing artists like Yves Montand, Eddy Mitchell, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Maxime Le Forestier, Barbara or Charles Aznavour. In 1989 he released his first album and now he is recognized as a respected and admired musician not only in France but also in the rest of Europe and USA.

This new recording gathers ten songs that become a compendium of the styles that have influenced him over the years, from Bob Dylan to blues, soul, rock or jazz, displayed along well-known songs like “Maggie’s Farm” (Bob Dylan), “Chain of Fools” (Don Covay), “Key To The Highway” (adapting the original by Big Bill Broonzy), “Rainy Night In Georgia” (T.J. White), “Love The One You’re With” (S Stills) or “Sunshine Of Your Love” (Cream) among others. In addition, Jean Jacques Milteau wants to pay tribute to this small instrument that, with only 10 centimeters long, has allowed him to travel around the world and meet countless people who have musically and personally enriched him.

In the album he has counted with four excellent vocalists like Mike Andersen in two songs, Harrison Kennedy in two more ones, Carlton Moody in three cuts and Michael Robinson in three more, together with Johan Dalgaard on wurlitzer, piano, Hammond, clavinet and percussion, Laurent Vernerey on upright bass and David Donatien on congas and percussion, plus drummers Raphael Chassin and Toma Milteau in three songs and, of course, the undeniable quality of Jean Jacques Milteau on harmonica. GREAT.
