Born in Australia and now living in New Orleans, Ivor Simpson-Kennedy presents his new release after the pandemic. During the confinement months Ivor wrote a handful of good, fresh and emotional songs, that included the different colors and facets of country blues, back-porch blues and other styles where Ivor feels comfortable with.

Ivor has selected fifteen of the songs he wrote during the lockdown to give shape to this new album. All tracks will let you appreciate his diverse influences ranging from Caribbean rhythms to rhythm and blues, from roots music to Southern soul or from Louisiana swamp blues to the rhythms of New Orleans.

In the album Ivor S.K. plays all the instruments, both in acoustic and electric format, besides singing with a deep, raw and rough voice that, sometimes, could remind Tom Waits’ one. The song lyrics exude a great sense of humor and a remarkable deep message, but also an undeniable fresh air and originality, which makes Ivor to easily connect with most listeners.

This is an album that deserves a relaxed listening and, in this way, discover the musical proposal of an artist who, unfortunately is rather unknown for European audiences.
