Harmonica player Manuel Ito Soto grew up listening to Chicago classic blues musicians like Jerry Portnoy or Paul Butterfield, thanks to the good influence he received from his elder brothers and cousins who were always listening to vinyl lp’s of Canned Heat, Allman Brothers Band, John Mayall, Ten Years After, Led Zeppelin… This led him to discover Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells and many other great bluesmen After years and years practising harp and blowing alone in the privacy of his home, one day Ito realized he was sufficiently prepared to face up to the world and share his knowledge with other musicians who also liked the music he deeply loved It was in this way that, after improving his technique and enlarge his musical knowledge taking some lessons with an expert like Quique Bonal, in 1990 he decided to form his first band together with Antonio Pin Toscano and he named it John Doe Blues Band, which soon became a pioneer one in Huelva blues scene Since then on, the story is well known The album includes nine classic blues songs, except the one called Blues for Lucia In this album Ito has not included drums, recording it on a trio format with Ito himself on harmonica, Kike Real on double bass and the always faithful to the most orthodox blues Pepe Delgado on guitar and vocals
