Only backed by her fiddle, ilana Katz Katz’s voice sounded out through the subway corridors, cheering everyone up, with a repertoire that evoked musicians like Rickie Lee Jones, Alison Krauss or Joni Mitchell.

Ilana has been lucky and now she has been able to release this album which has been produced by Matt Isbell, leader of Ghost Town Blues Band. As she says, she still likes to play on the subway and still does it when she doesn’t have scheduled shows, although her music is different when she plays below ground or when she does it on stage.

Since Ronnie Earl collaborated on her first recording her fame has not stopped growing, which has allowed her to perform or record with artists like Bob Margolin, Kingfish, Billy Price, Liz Mandeville or Diane Blue.

This album gathers ten own compositions and a cover of a traditional song, where singer and guitar player Johnny Burgin has collaborated in some of them, together with Matt Isbell, Stephen Dougherty and Chris Matheos, on a delightful repertoire where the subtle delicate voice and the elegant fiddle of Ilana Katz Katz move easily along blues, folk and Americana music roads.
