Here comes the last work of the duo formed by guitarist and singer Ike Woods and his wife Val Normally they release their albums often, but this one comes after a certain time of silence The reason seems to be Ike has been working on a recently published book entitled Princess Portia’s Enchanted Journey he has written and illustrated, which is a kind of autobiographical story Coming back to the cd, say it includes twelve songs, three signed by the duo and the rest covers of John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Reed, Chuck Berry or Earl Hines among others As usual Ike & Val have the recipe for giving us joy and passion, because they are two real ‘entertainers’ who display a wide range of songs, coming from rock to blues, soul, funk and ballads The musicians who back them are very professional ones, able to make everything sound right and well teamed Finally, I shall give a special mention to the good work of Hugh Hitchcock on keyboards, together with the whole horn section
