Singer and guitar player Hughes Taylor was caught by the blues when, aged thirteen, a friend of his father let him listen to Eric Clapton. By that time Taylor had just started to practice with the guitar but it was after he discovered Eric Clapton that he was aware that his destiny was to play blues and that it was a way with no return.

After immersing himself of blues, Hughes has developed his own style that, based on blues, has gradually added elements of Hendrix, Clapton, Muscle Shoals, Stax and vintage southern rock.

The music and the way Hughes Taylors displays his songs certainly have a more actual presentation because he rewrites the old tradition of the blues that was played during the sixties and seventies and I even would say he does it with a precise reverence, without any kind of affectation or adding unnecessary details that may overload his proposal and, although this is his fourth studio album, his vision of music has not substantially changed from what he wanted to perform from the beginning of his career. Hughes Taylor really knows what he wants to do and how to do it so “Modern Nostalgia” becomes a good example of his musical speech.
