It is not my purpose to review cds that give not blues music on them, but in this case I will do an exception It’s title is ‘the spirit of rhythm’ but, in my opinion, it should have been ‘the spririt of the thirties’ because the cd has the flavour of the music that was being played in so legendary places like New York’s Savoy Ball Room, to only mention an example Good sextet, good musicians, good jamming and splendid arrangements for the great voice of Mrs Elisa Lynn that powerfully shines over a pasted horn section All musicians offer incredible elegant solos much in the path of such great combos like Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson or Benny Goodman’s ones who were in fashion at that crazy old times If you like swing, hot jazz or deco jazz, this is your cd
