Aged ninety three, David ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards keeps on fighting, working, travelling and surviving with an amazing vitality together with Pinetop Perkins, the majority of the contemporary musicians who unfortunately have passed away Davis was born in the middle of the Delta and travelled here, there and everywhere with Robert Johnson and Big Joe Williams He also shared stage and adventures with Son House, Charlie Patton, Tommy Johnson, Son House, Tommy McClennanor Robert Pete Williams among other legendary names Edwards also was one of the artists who recorded for Alan Lomax in 1941 These historical recordings were published and now are kept at the Library of Congress in Washington The cd has been published by his good friend Michael Frank, owner of Earwig Records, and includes great names as guest musicians, such as Bobby Rush, Billy Branch, Sugar Blue, Johnny Yard Dog Jones or Willie Big Eyes Smith’s son Kenny Smith Nineteen mastery tracks that combine new songs with some old ones where you will find David Edwards solo singing and playing guitar, or together with Big Walter Horton on harp and vocals A mastery record, essential and necessary in any blues collection
