New Orleans is well known as a melting pot where different rhythms and flavours mix along the streets and clubs All this varied an eclectic spirit is perfectly reflected in the new work of The Honey Island Swamp Band After hurricane Katrina devastated the city, many musicians lost their homes and work Some of them travelled to San Francisco looking for new opportunities to face what destiny had given them This was the case of these musicians who met for a week at Boom Boom Room club in Frisco and they decided to join forces and form this band, recording their first album in 2009 Since then on they have not stopped to play around and they have come back to their old home of New Orleans where they have recorded this album, the fourth of his musical career For them this album means a new and exciting start to a more extensive musical vision that gathers a wide range of blues, southern rock boogie, Appalachian music or New Orleans swampy funk influences
