Well known in Canadian scene as an acoustic duo named Holly & Jon which has received excellent reviews, now Holly Hyatt and Jon Burden have decided to make a turn and electrify their instruments to record this album that drives us to early sixties Chicago West Side blues, with influences that come from Otis Rush, Magic Sam or Freddie King among others The album was recorded live at the Silverton Gallery in front of a selected small audience and gathers nine songs where, besides paying homage to Chicago blues, it also includes some other tributes to Delta blues, as well as five own songs In addition of Holly Hyatt on vocals, bass and double bass and Jon Burden on vocals and acoustic, electric and slide guitars, there is also Marvin Walker on drums and percussion Songs like Muddy Waters’ Blow Wind Blow, Memphis Slim’s Mother Earth Blues, Robert Johnson’s Come On In My Kitchen together with Let’s Boogie or Get Your Own Man will delight those lovers of the most calm and relaxing blues, which becomes the tasteful proposal of this interesting duo
