After some time without doing any recording, now comes back one of the great patriarchs of Louisiana barrelhouse-pianoswamp-blues, this time backed with a group of musicians who have specially met for this particular occasion There must be mentioned Paul ‘Buck’ Sinegal on guitar, who does an effective work, giving the precise support to Henry Gray, so it is always a pleasure to listen to his old raw style Gray was contemporary of some of the legendary names of old fifties Louisiana swamp blues He was a close friend of Slim Harpo, Lightnin’ Slim, Lazy Lester or Raful Neal and he played piano with some of the greatest Chicago bluesmen such as Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Sonny Boy Williamson, Elmore James or Jimmy Rogers You should get this great cd, enjoy it but, over all, listen and love it
