Finalist at the last International Blues Challenge in Memphis, in this new album Héctor Anchondo Band show an undeniable quality, good taste and interesting technique Hector discovered the blues in his hometown Omaha, Nebraska, where he became totally caught when he listened to those Stratocasters masters like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn or Eric Clapton, but he also did not forget his roots based in country music of artists like Johnny Cash or Hank Williams All these influences have been kept along his music career and, as it could not be otherwise, in all the ten songs that complete this album Backed by his powerful and well teamed band with Justin Shexlton on harmonica and vocals, Josh Lund on bass, Khayman Winfield on drums and vocals, Matt Russo on percussion and Eric Stark and Kenny Glover horns, their live shows always communicate an amazing terrific energy that can been also noticed in this recording Here come nine own songs and an unbelievable version of Black Magic Woman by Peter Green that show the maturity reached by this excellent singer and guitar player called Héctor Anchondo
