Many actual blues artists focus and drive their music to rock Although it may seem otherwise, this is not exactly the case of singer, bass player and songwriter Heather Crosse who strongly believes in old blues and new rhythm and blues power, deeply rooted in fifties and sixties tradition Born in Louisiana, now Heather lives in Clarksdale, Mississippi where she regularly plays, besides backing with her bass such great musicians like Bob Margolin, Guitar Shorty, Jody Williams or James ‘Super Chikan’ Johnson Last 2015 Heather toured Europe as member of the Blues Caravan ‘Girls With Guitars’, a show that got a huge success in all different European scenes they visited This is the first album she has recorded under her own name and I dare say it will not be the last one Eleven songs, five of them coming from Heather Crosse written in collaboration with other musicians where, besides paying tribute to some of her heroines like Etta James or Big Mama Thornton, Heather manages to give to every song a special originality and fresh air to give happiness and joy to a wide varied audience, with the additional guarantee that gives her to be backed by the excellent band which has supported her during the past eight years, Heavy Suga’ & The SweeTones
