Harrison Kennedy was born into a musical family which kept a good friendship with Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and Lonnie Johnson. In 1969 Kennedy left school to become a musician, joining Detroit, Michigan soul supergroup “The Chairmen Of The Board” touring all over the world. Along his career Harrison Kennedy has shared stage with B.B. King, James Brown, Smokey Robinson or Stevie Wonder among many other superb artists.

This is his seventh recording for Canadian record label Electro-Fi. Harrison Kennedy shows on it his two outstanding sides as blues and soul singer, styles where he feels like a fish in water, without forgetting some steps into folk or r&b, besides playing acoustic guitar and harmonica with reliability. Kennedy also has written eleven of the twelve songs that make up the album.

Harrison Kennedy has the skill to drive listeners to the roots of Afro-American music, thanks to his deep and rough voice and a special sensitivity and taste to develop the songs he performs. In the album he is joined by a large group of musicians like Ruthie Foster, Colin Linden, Jesse O’Brien or Jimmy Bowskill or Chris Caddell among others.

Now aged 80, Kennedy proves he is in an excellent form to delight listeners with his enviable energy and vitality.
