Winners of the European Blues Challenge 2022 that took place in Malmö (Sweden), Dutch band Harlem Lake has achieved a remarkable visibility in a very short time. According to their words, in 2017 they only were a band of teenagers who shared their love for blues with a few fans and followers. Since then on, thanks to their passion for music and a hard work, they have been climbing steps in their musical career.

This album was released in 2021 and reflects what the band is able to give us. Although the album songs do not include blues as the main element, as they have decided to devote themselves to other styles like seventies rock with a touch of psychedelia and Americana music they perform with determination and good knowledge, blues always plans in many of the songs.

Led by the expressive passionate voice of Janne Timmer, who has written all song lyrics, while the whole music has been composed by keyboard player Dave Warmerdam, alone or together with other group members in some tracks, the recording has been a challenge for the band, as they have explored different fields like composition, production and mixing. The result is totally satisfactory and this powerful album becomes a good example of the musicians’ quality and the huge possibilities of this young but experienced band.
