Although they come from Norway, Hákon Hoye and his band manage to get and communicate to listeners the genuine sound of Americana music, blues, soul, gospel and even some fifties rock ‘n’ roll Their music is strongly anchored in these roots styles, although the song lyrics tell us about nowadays problems and concerns Over the years they have backed and performed with artists like Louisiana Red, also playing in Red’s album Back To The Black Bayou, which was nominated for two awards at 2010 Blues Awards, Mitch Kashmar, RJ Mischo or Tad Robinson among others The album was recorded in Oslo and mixed at guitar player Kid Andersen’s Greaseland studios in California, where the Sons Of The Soul Revivers collaborated in a couple of songs Besides Hákon Hoye on guitar and vocals the rest of the band musicians are Per Tobro on bass and Vetle Larsen on drums, although for this interesting album you will also find other musicians such as Kjell Magne Lauritzen on piano, Eivind Hoye on accordion, Kid Andersen on guitar or Kasper Vaernes on sax
