As time goes by and they release new albums, this Extremadura band named Guitar Not So Slim, led by American singer and guitar player now settled in Caceres Troy Nahumko, is daily improving, not only with an increasing quality, but also as arrangers and song writers The group says his music becomes better when it is savoured with some good Spanish dishes and the best wines from Extremadura, La Rioja or El Priorato The album includes thirteen new songs which give a complete vision of different blues faces In fact, the music they play can be defined as a updated tribute to those 20’s and 30’s southern USA string bands, with different influences of jazz, western swing and that special flavour of original old time jug bands Besides honouring the musicians and bands they mention in the cd, they unconsciously also pay homage to artists like The Mississippi Sheiks, Noah Lewis, The Shreveport Home Wreckers, Bumble Bee Slim, Casey Bill Weldon and some other great pre-war bluesmen i will not mention now for space reasons Guitar Not So Slim is a band gifted with an impressive instrumental quality and a real knowledge of the music they play The albom also includes a bunch of excellent guests musicians, like superb singer Mary May or a really inspired piano player, Lino Vishnudatt In short words, this is one of the best blues albums recorded in our country during the past 2014
