Born in Lafayette, Louisiana and now settled in New Orleans, Gregg Martinez, aka Mac Daddy, is one of the most impressive and well known rhythm and blues, soul blues and swamp pop singers and a good trumpet player too It is not by chance he has led bands like King Fish, The Heat or The Boogie Kings His powerful tone and vocal strength gather influences from sixties and seventies great vocalists such as Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Al Green or Louisiana artists like Johnny Adams, Kent Luther and GG Shinn Some years ago Gregg Martinez formed his own group, The Delta Kings and, together, they have performed at the best stages, well known places and most prestigious venues of their country This is his number 12 studio recording that includes thirteen songs where he combines New Orleans rhythm and blues with good soul, Memphis blues and Texas swing Besides his band musicians, Martinez has also counted with a bunch of good musicians as well as an incredible horn section which give warmth, color and brightness to an album that deserves to be discovered by every good music listener
