Son of Haitian immigrants, Greg Sover grew up in Philadelphia. While his classmates listened to rap, Greg was much more interested in rhythms imported from Haiti, but especially in rock, blues and country. This made him discover musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman and the three Kings, BB, Freddie and Albert. But it was not until the moment he came to the song “Purple Haze” that his life totally changed. He left aside the groups he had been playing with, to form his own band and devote himself to perform blues rock.

Deeply Jimi Hendrix’ admirer, in this album Greg has counted with one of the members of Hendrix’s most emblematic bands, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Band of Gypsies, bass player Billy Cox, who plays in the songs “Maniac Depression” and “Remember”. The rest of the musicians include drummers David Uosikkinen, Tom Walling and Najashi Rasheed, bass players Kenny Aaronson and David Palan, Jim Salamone on guitar, harmonica, drums and percussion, Wally Smith on keyboards, Brad Hinton on lap steel guitar, Jake Booker on rhythm guitar, Billy Cannon on congas and Charlene Holloway on vocals.

The spirit of Hendrix is present in many of the album songs, together with some more bluesy cuts and some rock ballads. This is an album that will undoubtedly delight all those who wish to make a trip back in time and meet again Jimi Hendrix and 70’s rock.
