Since 1998 Grand Marquis band has established as one of the most prominent ones in Kansas City area More than a hundred concerts per year and seven albums on their back confirm the successful career of this attractive group, gifted with an original distinctive sound, whose style is halfway among blues, American roots music and traditional jazz With a direct straightforward expressive style, that sometimes is developed in a really theatrical show, the band reached the final of the International Blues Challenge in 2011 and his previous release (Blues And Trouble) was one of the top three Best Self-Produced Recordings of year 2013 by the Blues Foundation This new album includes nine songs that follow the band path, with the amazing work of Bryan Redmond on vocals and soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, Trevor Turla on trombone and vocals, Chad Boydston on trumpet and voices, Ryan Wurtz on guitars, Ben Ruth on double bass and vocals and Fritz Hutchison on drums and vocals As you can easily imagine, this is a band where arrangements, harmonies, musical word painting and other spectacular games are basically carried out by horns, which display an exquisitely measured work, expressed with clarity, force and very good taste
