Gráinne Duffy is a vocalist who also plays guitar and writes songs, who comes from Monaghan, Ireland. Her professional career started in 2007 and from then on, she has created her own style, which is an outstanding personal combination of roots music, soul, blues and rock, all spiced with some elements of Celtic music.

Duffy has released three albums so far which define her particular way of approaching music that, as I have just mentioned, is really original and remarkable. “Dirt Woman Blues” is her fourth album and, to do it she has travelled to California, to the Big Fish Recording studios. From there come out nine perfectly cooked songs produced by Chris Goldsmith and Marc Ford, who have achieved a more than convincing sound.

All songs are Gráine Duffy’s and her husband Paul Sherry’s own compositions which become a good example of her powerful and vitalistic performing style. For the album she has counted with Mark Ford on guitars and vocals, Paul Sherry on guitars too, Elijah Ford on bass, piano, moog and vocals, JJ Johnson on drums and percussion, plus some other guests like John Ginty and Peter Levin on keyboards or Sam Goldsmith on piano, percussion and vocals and, of course, Gráinne Duffy’s warm guitar and her full of rich nuances voice, which firmly lead this new recording.
