Grady Champion is a gifted singer born in 1969 in Mississippi The youngest of his father’s twenty-eight children (yes, you have well read it!) began singing at the age of eight at the local church choir, where he discovered his skills and passion for music After several musical adventures in a variety of genres and styles, he finally learned to play harmonica which definitely drove him to the blues For years he hardened himself as a singer and harmonica player performing regularly all over the country, as well as recording some albums and, in 2013, he signed with Malaco Records, releasing several albums that got a remarkable success In this new work Grady wanted to pay homage to one of the legendary Malaco Records artist, the magnificent soul blues performer ZZ Hill, an artist who perfectly combined the genuine southern blues, in the path of Bobby Rush, with the real southern soul of Bobby Blue Bland or Little Milton that now Grady Champion is a privileged heir who has been able to continue and collect the skills of these legendary artists Twelve genuine songs that follow the just described line round up an album that undoubtedly will let actual fans discover the blues that was listened and tasted during the seventies and eighties, reinterpreted by an artist so actual and brilliant called Grady Champion
