From Oslo, Norway come Good Time Charlie Band, to give us a cool refreshing performing, with their jump and rhythm and blues music deeply rooted on fifties sound. They are a solid band with a teamed cool sound, an experienced party-blues band who will give you plenty of joy. And I am not the only one who says that, Lowell Fulson himself has praised them every time they back him during different tours in Europe. The first cd was recorded seven years ago and includes fourteen interesting tracks, seven versions of rather unknown songs together with their own compositions. You will find a classic format of harmonica and vocals, guitar, bass and drums. The second cd was recorded seven years later. Guitar and bass players have left the band, so you will find Arle Hjelmeland, band founder and leader, on harmonica and vocals, Steinar Karlsen on guitar and organ, Oystein Lydvo on bass and Per Fredriksen on drums. Musically speaking they faithfully remain on West Coast tradition but with a careful well done final production and a better sound that on previous recordings. Anyway, both cds perfectly reflect the band musical style that will completely satisfy all Texas sound lovers.
