After a forty-years career, singer and multi-instrumentalist Glen Foster has felt the need to break all the rules and release an album where he can express all his feelings, without taking care of commercial bondages and ties.

A lot has changed in the music industry Glen disagrees with, like releasing singles instead of whole albums, accumulating streaming downloads instead of sales, repetition instead of virtuosity, image instead of technique, or thirty-second songs instead of songs with an elaborate message and songwriting. That’s why Glen has decided to publish an album without any commercial pressure, where he can present what he really wants to express in each song. As an example, the album opening track is almost seventeen minutes long and includes three different songs linked together, each one in a different key but with the same tempo, while in the song “Seeing Red” he adds some Aboriginal voices to emphasize the stories and metaphors he wants to share with us.

Although this is not a blues album, it becomes a more than interesting curiosity, that allows us to appreciate this musician’ quality and the performing freedom he develops in each of his songs, besides letting us taste his skills as instrumentalist as, in the album, you will find him singing and playing guitars, organ, bass, dobro, lap steel, synthesizers and harmonica. He is backed by his band members Marg Foster on vocals and percussion, James McRae on drums and vocals, Marty Steele on piano, keyboards and organ and Colin Stevenson on bass and vocals, but he has also surrounded himself with a large group of guest musicians who contribute to create the best and necessary atmosphere to make each song sound different.
