Faultless example of the good work of a harmonica played who has been touched by the light of virtuosism Gino is a blower gifted with a modern sound and phrasing but at the same time classic, as he drinks from Little Walter, Larry Adler, George Smith, Lee Oskar and Toots Thielemans sources, among other ones Gino displays his musical speech following the point of view of such harp players like Carlos del Junco, Steve Baker, Mitch Kashmar and Dennis Gruenling, to only name the first ones who come to my mind With this project Gino wants to clarify harmonica is not just a solo instrument, but also an important part of the ‘ensemble’ in a horn section that teams with other metal instruments to give a more than excellent result The result comes in this great cd, where jazz and blues perfectly match with an awesome sound Michael Peloquin’s harmonica, tenor sax, trumpet and trombone arrangements shine at a very high level, while a powerful swing flies around the eleven songs included in the cd A deluxe album… Unbelievable!
