Open an album with a cappella version of St James Infirmary is something not very usual and trivial and dare to do it as singer Georgie Bonds has done it is really worth, because this vocalist really excels what we could imagine The new album of singer and songwriter Georgie Bonds proves his immense emotional power and great musical quality, as he displays the blues in its most rough, genuine and original way Georgie’s life has been filled with two passions: horses and blues and both have given him countless satisfactions At the end of the eighties he discovered the blues thanks to a Robert Johnson’s tape a friend gave him He began playing in jam sessions until Sonny Rhodes became his friend and mentor In 1994 he formed his own band but, as a result of a medical mistake, he was about to die After a long recovery he has come back again with more strength and energy than ever to show his full artistic potential as singer to leave his stamp in this fabulous album full of good moments of passionate blues A good bunch of high class musicians back him, so the result is a totally fascinating recording
