After four albums released with his band Black Cat Bone Blues Band, Italian singer, harmonica player and composer Gennaro Carrillo comes back with an ambitious research project It is a conceptual album with twelve songs, most of them with a common subject related with the Italian unification and the bandits of that particular time For the recording he has surrounded by a bunch of good musicians coming from a variety of musical cultures and fields, all they interested in blues, although this is not the style they usually play Another peculiarity of this unusual project is all cuts are sung in Italian and some other dialects still used in the south of that country, which gives an additional research and original richness to this singular recording The album drives us along winding roads, not only based in blues roots tradition but also in the Italian history and musical background This is an interesting recording that brings new concepts and ideas, opening new roads that up to date have never been explored
