Gaye Adegbalola & The Wild Rütz are a female vocal quartet which will not leave anyone indifferent, because they sing a capella only backed by different kinds of percussion plus an occasional guitar in some tracks Gaye follows the footsteps left by the famous and missed Saffire group and includes in this album a bunch of songs that reflect her acid and sharp sense of humour, her amazing vitality and her involvement in social movements such as feminism, collective rights of the gay community or personal freedom, and she does it with a totally different and very original repertoire The rest of The Wild Rutz members are Tanyah Cotton, Gloria Jackson and Marta Fuentes, all of them with a wide career in the music world, who come from quite different genres, though always related with Afroamerican tradition This album could be qualified as a tribute to the first instruments God gave to human beings, that is to say, voice and rhythm percussions, performed with great talent and effectiveness If you like gospel, rhythm and blues and fifties doo-woop, then you will surely enjoy this recording
